REVIEW:
In a collection of letters written by a devil named Screwtape to his young apprentice, Lewis takes an ironic look at the life of a human from evil eyes. Screwtape, educating his apprentice, gives all sorts of advice to the young fiend on how to capture the human soul. This leads to baffling and staggeringly accurate takes on the weakness of humans, providing insane insight on how the real Devil might work. It’s amazing how something from an evil perspective, referring to the Lord as “the Enemy” and Satan as the “Father Below,” and calling all virtues bad and all sins good, can be so easily understood from a Christian perspective as a lesson on how corrupt our hearts are and how to combat the Devil. Dark truths are stated blatantly, showing bone chilling realities. I really believe this book is essential for young Christians to read, although it has mentions of heavy and immoral topics that might not be appropriate for younger teens. But I recommend this book to the fullest, and I recommend after you read it, read it again, and again, continuously indulging in Lewis's masterful piece.

TAKEAWAYS:
There is so much knowledge that can be obtained from this book, it’s really a wild and fascinating read. I’ll never tire of the irony and wit that’s right alongside the wisdom Lewis spills into his work. Certainly one of my favorite books of all time.
A Masterpiece of Satire on Hell’s Latest Novelties and Heaven’s Unanswerable Answer
C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the unique vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to “Our Father Below.” At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the wordly-wise devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation—and triumph over it—ever written.

His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Mere Christianity, Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics The Chronicles of Narnia.
