REVIEW:
As far as her friends are concerned, Autumn Collins is just like everyone else. But she’s not. Autumn has spent years hiding her struggle with anxiety and depression, fearing the rejection telling her friends might bring. Now she finally feels like it’s not a big deal, like she’s a normal girl going camping with her friends. But everything goes wrong when she’s trapped in a library over the weekend.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s not five or even four star level, but it’s good. Don’t be turned off too much by the three stars!
There were several things I liked about this book. I really liked the main character! This is a Young Adult book so the main character is a teenager, which makes it a lot easier to relate to her rather than the thirty-year-old main characters in most romance novels. I thought she was smart, and she made some smart decisions that I honestly didn’t think she was going to have the sense to do. Not to give too many spoilers, but at one point Autumn realizes she doesn’t like someone as much as she thought she did, and decides to end things. I really respected her for coming to that conclusion on her own and acting on it!
Really the only reason this book is only three stars is because I just didn’t feel as deeply about the whole thing as some other Kasie West books. The romance was cute, and I appreciated that it was completely clean, but I also didn’t feel like I would be devastated if the characters didn’t end up together. It had some funny bits, but not as funny or as often as in Love, Life, and the List, also by Kasie West. So while there was nothing wrong with it, for some reason I didn’t care quite as much. Don’t get me wrong though, this is a very good book and deserves its three stars!

TAKEAWAYS:
My main takeaway from this book was that true friends should and will value and care about you even through your struggles and difficulties.
An irresistible story from Kasie West that explores the timeless question: What do you do when you fall for the person you least expect?
When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn't think things could get any worse. But that's before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her.
Autumn doesn't know much about Dax except that he's trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he's not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.
Only he doesn't come. No one does.
Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye.
As he and Autumn at first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn's old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax's side?
Kasie West writes YA and adult romance novels. She eats chocolate cinnamon bears. Sometimes goes crazy and does both at the same time. A few of her works are: SUNKISSED, PS I LIKE YOU, MOMENT OF TRUTH, WE MET LIKE THIS, and more. Kasie's agent is the talented and funny Michelle Wolfson.
